MY HOME Theater Show

One ‘Home’ makes peace between two rivals using song and dance.

This theatrical play based on Latin, associative language and gestures recognizable around the world. It provides ‘physical’ theatrical interactions and symbolism fully engaging audience participation.

The play, ‘My Home’ is comprised of 3 significant actors/characters; which chronicles an argument and eventual resolution between 2 people that claim this is their ‘home’ which is representative of the following:

  • Act1: Two individuals find the same home without knowing about the other.

  • Act 2: These Two individual men fight over the ownership. When there is fighting, the ‘home’ shuts down affecting all relationships.

  • Act 3: They decide to split the home into two, which becomes good for both but with deception and without empathy for the other.

  • Act 4: After living for a short while together, they question ‘Who’ is truly fit for the home, which leads to a deeper conflict, resulting in the destruction of the ‘house’.

  • Act 5: After losing everything they realize that in order to achieve basic necessities, security, and comfort of home, they find they must become friends first, building their home together based on sincerity, empathy and love.

Educational purposes:

  • Promote discussion amongst youth as well as adults (children, students, parents, educators, clergy, etc.).

  • What can we learn from fictional conflict and how to ‘exist’ together? (Whether it be food, toys, resources, home or Country)

  • How does one work out these conflicts when something belongs to ‘me’ and has trouble accepting others using what belongings are ‘mine’?

This project is inspired by the day to day reality of children living in a conflict zone.
